A message from the board of YPN Chapter 25

Virginia Y Leaders,

Over the past month, we have been closely monitoring COVID-19 as we move closer to May and our Chapter 25 Spring Conference. Today, our Chapter leadership made the heart-wrenching decision to CANCEL the 2020 Chapter 25 YPN Spring Conference.

With the impact that COVID-19 has had on YMCAs across Virginia, and the unknowns facing our state over the next 30 days, we felt it was in the best interest for our YPN members, Spring Conference Volunteers, and our Y's in Virginia if we cancelled the 2020 Conference.
We will begin refunding all conference registrations to the original form of payment. Hotel room reservations will be cancelled by the Omni.

In addition, we will be including in that communication information about the EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND. As you know, all YPN Prime Members are eligible for EAF, should their situation present the need. If I can be of any assistance to an employee facing hardship, please let me know.

YPN (AYP, APD) has been strong in Virginia for well over 30 years. We have great support from senior leaders across the state, and year after year have a record number of Prime members and attendees at our Spring Conference. While we are sad to announce this news, we will get through this. Our board will continue to ask how best YPN can serve the YMCA leaders in Virginia this year and beyond. We have always been an extremely strong chapter and we look forward to serving our members for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support of YPN. Take care over the next few weeks and let me know if you have any questions.

Nancy A. Byrum

YPN President, Chapter 25
