YMCA Professional Network (YPN) is a YMCA of the USA-supported professional development and peer-to-peer network with more than 30 chapters nationwide led by local Y staff. Through leadership training and networking opportunities, YPN helps you advance your Y career by improving the skills and competencies needed for you to help your Y achieve its organizational goals.
What you gain from YPN:
- Learn new skills through trainings and eLearnings
- Build your networks
- Share knowledge with your peers
- Develop as a leader
All Y staff—including part-time and seasonal—are general YPN members upon hire and have immediate access to YPN events and resources. To receive these great benefits, simply register on link.ymca.net. General membership is free, and you can upgrade to Prime Membership for even more benefits.
Questions? Contact Kelly Bridgman, YPN Chapter 25 president.
With YPN, you can:
Connect
A Vast Network for Peer-to-Peer Learning
YPN connects staff with hundreds of other YMCA professionals through local, regional and national events and through Peer Communities—networks within YPN designed to exchange best practices and foster innovation in specific program areas (such as aquatics, membership and camp).
Learn
Training to Help You Develop as a Y Professional
Panel discussions on hot topics, eLearnings and chapter events provide professional development for YPN members that complements the leadership development experiences offered by Y-USA. Participation in YPN earns credits that can be applied toward leadership re-certification (for multi-team and organizational leader certification). These benefits enhance your competencies as a cause-driven leader.
LEAD
Opportunities to Grow Through Leadership
YPN membership develops and refines your leadership competencies through skills training, networking connections with Y leaders and peers, opportunities to share knowledge and best practices, and the potential to serve in leadership positions (YPN Prime members are eligible to serve in leadership positions with chapter boards, committees and Peer Communities).
